19 International exhibition in Saumur
AR(T)CHEVAL REVELATION 2011....
AR(T)CHEVAL exhibition in Saumur rewarded this year artists selected for the first time, and artists already rewarded during previous exhibitions. Florence HUYAR-LETOURNEUR (1st selection), Bernard REBAUDET (1st section), Tania BRUZS, Jacques BLEZOT, and Cécile MASSARDO.
The First Prize 2011 was awarded to Florence HUYAR-LETOURNEUR for her graphic work “Centaure au galop”. She grew up in a city, and got a diploma in industrial design. She maybe came closer to nature by practicing horse-riding and drawing animals. She always tried several techniques (acrylic, water-color, oil, pyrography, inlaid work, collage), and various materials (paper, wood, nacre, gold leaf, bronze dust...).
The Second Prize was awarded to Bernard REBAUDET for his sculpture “Grand Sulky”. Passionate from his childhood by modeling clay, Bernard REBAUDET took drawing lessons, and got a diploma in Architecture. After discovering the work of François Pompon, he turned to sculpture of the animal world, which will remain his favourite subject. In 1990, under the artistic influence of Pablo Gargalo and Julio Gonzalez, he discovered the work of the Iron.
The Third Prize was awarded to Tania BRUZS for her graphic work “Centaures”. She grew up in a family of artists from Belgium ant Latvia. She travels a lot through Europe and around the World to get inspiration and discover new techniques.
2 Special Prizes were awarded to Jacques BLEZOT, for his sculpture “Cheval-moto 27”, and to Cécile MASSARDO for her painting “Jeu équestre”. From an artistic and advertising training, Jacques BlEZOT became story-boarder, illustrator, and art director since 1972. Since 2000, his woks are exhibited in famous galleries. Cécile MASSARDO, is selected for the fifth time, and she has also exhibited in various galleries since 1994, where she got several prizes.
The Favorite of the magazine l’Eperon was awarded to Isabelle MAURY for her painting “Cheval de bois”, by the editorial director of the magazine “l‟Eperon”, Xavier LIBBRECHT.
The gallery is opened every day from 10h to 12h and 14h to 18h ; admission free.The next week-end, the art‟s artisans (saddler, blacksmith, from La Roche sur Yon and Le Lion d‟Angers representing National stud) will present their job, in the old stable of BOUVET-LADUBAY. Finally, to close this fortnight, the 12 and 13 November, the animal drawer Philippe Robert, will accompany the budding artists in their discovery of the horse. Agnès Roy, painter and sculptor, will astonish the public by presenting her wok „on live”. On the 43 works, which compose the International exhibition of Saumur 2011, the judges kept 18 works, which will go, after the end of exhibition, in Paris from 21 November 2011 to 13 January 2012, at the headquarters of the Magazine : l‟Eperon, 21 rue du Sentier (75002).
